SWABI - Jamaat-i-Islami Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Amir, Prof Muhammad Ibrahim Khan, said that the government should immediately install the caretaker setup and announce the date of upcoming general elections. Addressing the party workers in Shewa here on Tuesday he said that the election campaign has already been kicked off by all mainstream political parties. Delaying tactics are not acceptable to the nation and the best option for the government is to install interim government, he said.
The role of caretaker government is very critical in holding free and fair elections and they hope that the caretakers would play their distinguished role in the forthcoming critical elections.
All the political parties are agreed on the point that the elections should be held in time and our party also supports this idea, he said.
The present regime had already completed its constitutional tenure and it was vital that the government should be handed over to the interim government.
The JI provincial ameer predicated that the new elections are expected to bring revolution in the country. He said: “The current year is a year of revolution and that would come through the forthcoming general elections.”
The people have seen the five years rule of the corrupt politicians who failed to resolve the people problem.
He said that the people would not vote for the corrupt elements and they planned to block their re-entry into the parliament.
The energy crises badly hit the country but what had done by the present government for resolving this serious problem.
The people even in winter faced 16 to 18 hours loadshedding, he said, adding that the upcoming summer might be more critical and
Increasing prices of commodities, breakdown of law and order, weakening of the institutions, increasing of corruption, appeasement towards the US, financial decline and devolution of Pakistani rupee and weakening of the economy, no employment opportunities and lack of provision of health and education facilities were all the gifts of the present regime given to the people.
What happened in Balocanistan? How the tribal regions were dealt? How much people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa suffered? He posed these questions and said that when the government was not taking interest in the solution of people’s problems how they could be resolved.
