Quetta police recover 50-kg explosives

QUETTA – Police foiled a terror bid, recovering 50-kg explosives from an auto rickshaw at Sariab Road here on Tuesday.
DIG Investigation Mubeen Ahmed said police were informed that some terrorists had planned to target Sariab Police Station and an auto rickshaw was being used for the purpose. “We put Sariab Police on high alert,” he said adding that SP Bashir Ahmed Brohi along with Bomb Disposal Squad cordoned off the areas and started search operation.
He said that during search, police found explosives concealed in a cylinder kit. Bomb Disposal Squad defused the explosives which were weighing 50 kg.
Police have started investigation into the incident.
