Qureshi says Gilani lost prerogative over national issues

Shah Mahmood Qureshi, vice chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), on Sunday said that prime minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani stood disqualified after the Supreme Court decision and thus lost his prerogative to take decisions on national issues. Talking to media, he said that his party was not calling shots but was taking practical steps for the removal of corrupt ruling junta and for the purpose a protest movement had been launched. Gilani should have resigned from his office after his conviction but he was showing defiance to the apex Court’s orders and clinging to his post, he lamented and said that all his decisions after his conviction would have no efficacy as these would be termed unconstitutional and illegal. About forging of alliance with PML-N, the PTI leader said that they had not taken any decision as they were not willing to repose confidence on PML-N. He also hinted at increasing the mass protests to all parts of the country.
