LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that accusations of dual citizenship against him are baseless and contrary to the facts and he will prove this before the Supreme Court.
Talking to the journalists in German city of Berlin on Friday, the chief minister said that the PML-N stance on dual citizenship is very clear.
“I am proud of being a Pakistani”, he said, adding if he proved before the court that he was not a dual nationality holder then those who levelled allegations against him, should quit as assembly members.
The chief minister said his party always respected decisions of the court and would continue efforts to ensure full implementation of the judicial verdicts. Shahbaz Sharif said that the Supreme Court has summoned him on October 17 which he will do and, Insha’Allah, the whole matter will become crystal clear.
