LAHORE - The PML-N is all set to resolve Capt Safdar issue as according to well-placed party sources he has denied having said anything against the party leadership of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and secondly he may prefer to say ‘sorry’ if anything on his part had hurt their feelings.
Captain Safdar, the son-in-law of PML-N President Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif faced suspension of his basic membership in the party on July 27th last on the charges of violating party discipline.
Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, General Secretary PML-N, had not only suspended his membership but had also served a show-cause notice to Safdar for replying within 10 days.
Safdar, Central President of the PML-N Youth Wing, faced the charges that while addressing a public meeting, he described party leaders namely Sardar Mahtab Khan Abbasi, Central Vice President and PML-N Khyber PK President Pir Sabir Shah as ‘Mir Jaffar’ and ‘Mir Sadiq’ in the party.
These stalwarts of the party brought this fact into the notice of the party President who took action against Safdar.
Sources said that Safdar explains that he respected the said leaders and has been misquoted.
‘I had infact, termed ‘Mir Jaffar’ and ‘Mir Sadiq’ to the adversaries of Sardar Mahtab Abbasi and Pir Sabir in the party’, say the sources as quoting Safdar.
They said Safdar may say ‘sorry’ if the other side feels hurt by his remarks which he denies as directed towards them.
When contacted, PML-N Central Information Secretary, Senator Mushaidullah Khan said that the matter may be sorted out if Safdar says ‘sorry’ ,however, if he does not, action may be taken against him as PML-N President is very strict on discipline in the party ranks.
