Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf has directed the Law Minister to ensure that the constitution and law are followed in letter and spirit in the run up to the next elections so that there is no room for any delay.

The Prime Minister was talking to Mr Farooq H. Naek, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs who called on him at the Prime Minister’s House Thursday and gave him a comprehensive briefing about the role of Election Commission and measures taken by the Government to ensure free, fair and transparent elections in the country.
During the meeting they also discussed the current situation in the back drop of parleys with leaders of PML-Q and reviewed the overall arrangements of the election process in the country.
The Prime Minister appreciated the efforts made by the Ministry of Law particularly Mr Farooq H. Naek in the preparation of Fair Trial Bill and its successful passage by both Houses of Parliament.
