LAHORE - Two-day National Conference on “Roadmap for Peace and Progress of Balochistan” was organised by Pakistan Institute of National Affairs (PINA) and the Punjab University. It was inaugurated by Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran and concluded by eminent constitutional expert SM Zafar.
The conference condemns killing of Hazara tribe and settlers, abduction of doctors and attacks on gas pipelines, installations and assassination of political workers and journalists.
The conference noted that the military stance has changed: there is special recruitment of youth from Balochistan, as also opening of quality educational institutions and economic opportunities. It is hoped that General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani will keep the momentum of these confidence building measures and Federal Government would endeavour to win the hearts and minds of the people by ensuring social justice and economic development.
Education, development, democratic system and employment opportunities for the youth. be given top priority. All state institutions and public at large should contribute in this behalf.
