Five children die of polio in NWA, Khyber Agency

PESHAWAR/WANA : Polio has claimed lives of three children in North Waziristan and two in Khyber agency while several others have been affected.

According to reports from the tribal region, polio disease has spread in the area and dozens of children have been affected because militants have not allowed the immunisation teams to administer polio drops to children in the far-flung areas. Agency Surgeon Dr Muhammad Sadiq said that dozens of children have been brought to hospital and admitted.  The disease has also spread in Ghundi area of Khyber Agency affecting several children.
