The victim was identified as Samina Kamal, 48, daughter of Kamaluddin. Police officials said that the woman was living with her brother namely Anwar Kamal at his house in Block-VI, Clifton.
Police officials quoted the victim’s family as saying that the woman was running her clinic but left it after she got engaged four months ago. But after her engagement broken up, she was too disheartened and hence committed suicide by drowning herself near canteen No 1, Sea View at the Clifton beach. Meanwhile, at least four people were killed in separate acts of violence on Friday in different parts of the city.
Abdul Sattar Baloch, 35, was gunned down near Teen Hatti area in PIB police precincts on Friday evening. Police officials said that the incident took place when unidentified armed men sprayed bullets on the victim’s car (BE-9932) near Baloch Para in Iqbal Colony. The victim was received a bullet in his head and died on the spot.
After getting the information, police rushed to the spot and the body was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Police said the victim was a transporter by profession but motive behind the incident was yet to be ascertained. He was the resident of Lyari. Police after completing legal formalities, handed over the body to his family. No case was registered till filing of the report. Earlier, a transporter who was later identified as Amanullah, 38, was gunned down near his home in Afridi Colony within the limits of Shara-e-Noor Jahan police station. Police officials said that the deceased was transporter by profession and also used to deal with the marble business.
He was standing near his home when unidentified armed men, on a motorbike, came close to him and shot him dead. Police officials said that the motive behind the incident might be personal enmity but further investigation was underway.
A thirty-year-old woman identified as Gul Bano, was gunned down inside her house in Baloch Goth in Orangi Town police precincts. Police officials said that the deceased was the mother of four children and the initial investigation suggested that her husband, namely Jafer escaped after killing her over domestic dispute. The victim’s body was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for autopsy.
A body of a minor boy was found from the garbage dump in Shah Faisal Colony. The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where he was identified as Faisal. Police officials said that the victim lived in Akhtar Colony and was kidnapped five days ago when he went to buy milk from a nearby shop.
