Govt determined to fulfill its constitutional responsibilities: PM

Prime Minister Raja Parvez Ashraf has said that democracy is gaining strength in the country due to the sagacity of political parties.

He was addressing the meeting of Council of Common Interests here in Islamabad on Wednesday.
He said “we are heading towards the next general elections and the government is determined to fulfill its constitutional responsibilities.”
He said that the forum of Council of Common Interests carries great significance in the resolution of national issues.
The Prime Minister said majority of the decisions taken by the council have been implemented.
The meeting was attended by Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif‚ Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah‚ Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhawa Amir Haider Khan Hoti and Chief Minister Balochistan Aslam Raisani.
Other members of the council including the Ministers for Science and Technology‚ Communication and Inter Provincial Coordination also attended the meeting.
