Dead cows meat seized

RAWALPINDI – A team of District Health Department seized 220 kg meat of dead animals during a raid at Pindora Chungi, Saidpur Road here on Thursday.
The butcher and the vehicle’s driver, on which the meat was being carried, were arrested while a case has also been registered against them.
Following the instructions of District Coordination Officer (DCO) Saqib Zafar, a team comprising Food Inspector Malik Aziz and led by District Officer Health (DO) Dr Khalid Randhawa conducted a raid on a butcher shop run by Amjad Hussain on Pindora Chungi.
The team confiscated 220 kg meat of dead cows and nabbed the butcher and the driver Abdul Rehman. Later, a case was registered against them at Police Station (PS) New Town. According to raiding team, the meat was brought from Mandi Bahuddin.
Similarly, another team of DHD raided at butcher shops at Bhabra Bazaar and seized 40 kg of unhygienic meat.
