BEIJING - China made it clear on Thursday that it will continue to assist Pakistan for its development and prosperity. The spokeswoman of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Hua Chunying expressed these views while responding to a couple of questions here with regard to transfer of operation of Gwadar port to a Chinese company. She said China and Pakistan are friendly neighbours and over a long period of time Chinese companies have been actively participating in various projects across Pakistan.
The spokesperson said as these projects are conducive in promoting friendship between the two countries and for Pakistan's development and prosperity, therefore China will actively support Pakistan.
