ISLAMABAD – The PPP-led government will present the bill on creation of new province in Punjab in the National Assembly on February 18, Law Minister Farook H Naek said on Thursday.

Quoting law ministry sources, a private TV channel said the bill is likely to be presented in the Senate today (Friday) as a supplementary piece of agenda.
According to the channel, law minister as saying that filing of petition for reconstitution of the election commission by Dr Tahirul Qadri was not a government conspiracy to delay the polls.
He said the chief of Minhajul Quran should present his points to the court and the law ministry will also present its views if asked by the court.
The minister said that they have not received any notification from the election commission regarding bar on appointments in the government departments.
Naek said he does not see any threat to the democracy and the democratic system. The PPP and PML-Q have not taken any decision on the issue of seat adjustments, he added.
