Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman has welcomed the offer of talks by the local Taliban. Talking to newsmen here‚ he said in view of the bloodshed in the country‚ the offer should be accepted in the larger interest of Pakistan. Maulana Fazlur Rahman said if the government does not want to have direct talks with them‚ these can be held through elders.
He said efforts for restoration of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal are in final stages and Jamaat-e-Islami is also being persuaded to rejoin MMA.
