SHO, 2 SIs, 8 cops charged with abusing power

SHAHKOT - On the orders of Nankana Sahib Additional District and Sessions Judge (ADSJ) Ch Zia Ullah, the City Police registered a case against Saddr Police SHO, two SI and 8 other police officials on charge of abusing power.

As per detail, a local bank cashier Ghulam Shabir Bawja filed a writ petition against the Saddr Police SHO, two SI and 8 constables in which he alleged that he was sitting with his friends Naveed and Asif at his resident in village Thothian on June 23. Meanwhile, Shahkot Saddr Police SHO Rana Sajjad Akbar along with two policemen stormed his house and took him away in front of eye-witnesses. The police bundled him into a car and brought him to CIA Chowki in Chandarkot in the remits of Nankana Sahib Saddr Police. Where, SI Molvi Abdul Khaliq and SI Rai Sadi Ahmed along with other 6 cops tortured him mercilessly, and made him seriously injured. Meanwhile, the police brought him to the Shahkot City Police Station on June 25 and handed over him to Naeem Iqbal Bandesha. After hearing the case, the Additional District and Sessions Judge ordered the local police to register a case against police officials. The Shahkot City police have registered a case against culprits.
