Pakistanis urged to exploit modern technology

SARGODHA - Development is only possible when the Pakistanis have command over the latest technology and knowledge, said the vice chancellor of the University of Sargodha.

Dr Muhammad Akram Chaudhary was addressing a laptops distribution ceremony in the second phase at the UoS campus. He said, “Our youth should fulfill their responsibilities to make Pakistan a developed Islamic welfare state. The UoS was the second university of the Punjab province where the students have received laptops in the second phase as well. This quick award of laptop to UoS students is because of the brilliant performance of the varsity in research and discipline and it’s a matter of great honour.”
The students have been provided with all the possible facilities including state of the art laboratories, standard library, uninterrupted supply of electricity in the hostels, he said. The VC added, “We should get ready to face the circumstances and should fight for our rights. Only then, Allah will help us. Free laptop scheme for students was a revolutionary scheme of the Punjab government.”
Giving an example of Turkey, the VC said that only those countries would lead the Muslim world which observes merit and take advantage of the latest technology in every field. Dean Faculty of Arts, Social Sciences & Law Dr Rasheed Ahmed Khan in his address, said that total 1,014 laptops are being distributed to the students in the second phase within two days. Dean Faculty of Management & Administrative Sciences Dr Maqbool Hussain Sial, RO Dr Ilyas Tariq, departmental heads, faculty members and a large number of students were present.
