ISLAMABAD - Hearing a case filed by four contractual employees of country’s superior intelligence agency against their chief and other government officers for not regularisation of their services, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday issued notices to ISI Chief Lt-Gen Zaheerul Islam and other respondents.
Alongwith other Federal government employees, the said four officer of ISI had approached the IHC for regularisation of their service.
The IHC on December 31st, directed the government to regularise the services of contract employees.
On Thursday, through their lawyer, the said four official of ISI told the court that following earlier decision of IHC, a Sub-Committee of Cabinet on regularisation, has approved their cases. However, they were not being regularised.
The petitioners requested the court to initiate contempt of court proceedings against the respondents for not complying with order. After hearing arguments from petitioners lawyers, Justice Riaz Ahmed Khan issued notices to all respondents and adjourned the hearing until next week. Advocate Shoaib Shaheen and Umair Balcoh represented the petitioners in IHC.
Meanwhile, Justice Riaz Ahmed Khan also directed the different Ministries/Divisions and other government owned organisations to regularise the services of all daily wages and contractual employees, who fulfil criteria set by National Assembly’s Sub-Committee on Cabinet.
