Power shortfall surges to 3,370 MW

The power shortfall in the country on Monday again increased to 3,370 MW from 2,995 MW as the total generation was recorded 10,830 MW against the demand of 14,200 MW during the last 24 hours.

According to report on daily power generation and load-management position, the hydel generation stood at 4,193 MW, WAPDA thermal 1,626 MW and IPPs 5,011 MW.
Sui Southern Gas Pipeline Limited has curtailed gas to SAIF, Halmor and Saphire power plants due to tripping of Qadir Pur gas field resulting generation reduced by 800 MW.     
KAPCO despatching 660 MW against 1342 MW while HUBCO Unit-3 (300 MW) on scheduled outage and Unit-1 (300 MW0 on forced outage.     
Similarly, FKPCL Complex (151 MW) and HCPC (129 MW) on schedule outage while AES Lalpir and AES PAKGEN on forced outage due to shortage of fuel.
