ISLAMABAD - Main Opposition party Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz has rejected the Sindh Local Government Ordinance 2012.
In a statement issued here on Friday, Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan termed the new Ordinance an effort to divide the Sindh province.
He said that this Ordinance would only serve the purpose of the rulers instead of public at large.
Nisar also criticised President Asif Ali Zardari in his typical style and said that the move proves the notion that President Zardari could compromise on the very integrity of the country, as he even did not hesitate to divide his own native province.
Nisar said that the controversial Ordinance was signed in the darkness of the night. He said the PML-N was working on devising comprehensive course of action in consultation with other political forces in Sindh including ANP, PML (Functional), Sunni Tehreek and nationalists representing people of Sindh.
