PM leaves for Sindh two-day visit today

ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf will leave for Sindh on a two-day visit today (Thursday), where he will visit Thar Coal Field project and Pakistan Steel Mills in Karachi. During his stay in Karachi, the prime minister will hold meetings with political leaders and people from different walks of life. Secretary to Government of Sindh, Coal and Energy Development would brief the Prime Minister on Thar Coal Development Project while Managing Director National Transmission and Dispatch Company would deliver a briefing on laying of transmission line from Thar Coal Field.The Prime Minister will also have a briefing by Shahrukh Khan, CEO Sino-Sindh, on latest status of Block-VI project. Athar Naseem Shaikh, CEO, Sino-Sindh will brief the Prime Minister on Block-I project.Shams Uddin Shaikh, CEO, Sindh Engro Coal Mining Company will brief Prime Minister on the latest position of joint venture between Government of Sindh and Engro on Block-II of Thar Coal Field.Dr Samar Mubarakmand will brief the Prime Minister on the progress made so far on production of electricity through Under Ground Coal Gasification Pilot project in Block-V.The Prime Minister will also address a public meeting at Thar where Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Senator Gul Mohammad Lot and Dr Mahesh Malani, Mani, MNA will also address the gathering.During the visit, he would be accompanied by, Minister for Finance Dr Abdul Hafeez Sheikh, Minister for Water &Power, Ch Ahmed Mukhtar, Minister for Information & Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira, Deputy Chairman Planning Commission Dr Nadeem ul Haq and Ms Robina Qaimkhani, Member Thar Coal Board.
