LAKKI MARWAT - Police arrested a narcotics smuggler and seized hashish from his custody on Wednesday.
After receiving information that an attempt would be made to smuggle hashish to Punjab, DPO Umar Riaz directed Lakki police to establish check posts on roads leading to Punjab, said an official. He said that a police party headed by SHO Lakki Asad Ali Shah stopped a passenger coach near Darra Tang check post, bordering the Mianwali district of Punjab.
He said that police recovered three kilogram hashish from a suspected passenger identified as Liak Noor, the resident of Kurrum agency after he was alighted from the coach. “The man was arrested and a case was registered against him under relevant section of law in Lakki Marwat police station”, he maintained.
