ISLAMABAD  - Attorney General Irfan Qadir said he was not expecting that the court will issue summon orders to the Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf.Talking to the media persons here on Wednesday‚ Attorney General said a middle way will be found out in accordance with the law and Constitution. He expressed confidence that the court will exercise restraint.Qadir said that it would be his endeavour that there should not be any confrontation among the national institutions. To a question about immunity, he said that immunity is being demanded as Constitution itself gives immunity. Irfan Qadir said that “a middle ground, in accordance with the law and the Constitution”, would be adopted in order to respond to the Supreme Court’s show-cause notice to Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf. He said that all options provided in the Constitution would be employed in response to the court’s notice.Qadir asserted that an individual could not request for immunity from the court and that it could only be granted by the Constitution. The government has no option other than following the country’s laws, he added. Earlier, a five-member bench of the apex court issued show-cause notice for contempt of court to the Prime Minister over his failure to implement its directives of writing a letter to Swiss authorities to reopen graft cases against President Asif Ali Zardari.
