ISLAMABAD Renowned lawyer and PPP leader Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan on Friday said general elections could be delayed if the Supreme Court decides to admit the petition filed by Tehrik-i-Minhajul Quran (TMQ) chief Tahirul Qadri. "If Dr Qadri's petition is admitted by the Supreme Court for hearing, there is possibility of elections delay," he told reporters outside the apex ourt.Aitzaz said it was not possible to Constitutionally remove any member of the Election Commission in its present form or to constitute the Commission anew.Aitzaz said Dr. Tahirul Qadri reneged on his agreement with the government by calling for the reconstitution of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).In reply to a question about the imposition of ban by the Election Commission on fresh recruitments, he said that the Commission was acting beyond its powers in this case.
