ISLAMABAD – The Islamabad Capital territory police may quash the FIR in connection with Kamran Faisal case anytime within the next 24 hours after it has been confirmed that deceased investigator of NAB committed suicide, credible sources told TheNation on Friday.
“It has been confirmed to us that Kamran Faisal committed suicide. So police can quash the FIR registered against unknown people accused of Kamran’s murder,” a police officer told TheNation requesting not to be named.
Islamabad police are to receive final report regarding the death of Kamran Faisal, said a NAB official who was investigating the rental power project case. The report, it is learnt, has declared that the officer committed suicide.
Earlier, Islamabad police registered a murder case over the death of Kamran Faisal, the National Accountability Bureau’s Assistant Director, after the Supreme Court intervened in the matter in January this year.
The case was registered on a complaint lodged by the NAB Additional Director (Coordination), Noman Aslam.
