SARGODHA - Additional District and Sessions Judge Jamil Ahmed Chaudhry ordered registration of a case against the District Food Controller (DFC) and four other officials on charges of corruption and misconduct during the recently concluded wheat procurement in the district.
One Rana Nisar and others growers filed petitions in the court, alleging that the Food Department officials extorted Rs7,000 for the collection of gunny bags issuance form. They charged that the officials also demanded one sack for each 100 wheat bags. However, when the matter was brought into the notice of the District Food Controller he infuriated and pushed them out of his office forcibly. Later, the DFC got lodged a false FIR against them with the assistance of local police. Following the allegations, the Additional District and Sessions Judge ordered the Anti-corruption Establishment to register a case against DFC Qazi Muhammad Ishaq, Assistant Food Controller, Accountant Rana Muhammad Afzal and Driver Shakir Shah.
