LAKKI MARWAT – Police on Saturday claimed to have recovered explosives and other equipments used in homemade bombs from a house in Abakhel village. “Two suspected militants arrested in connection with a case of bomb explosion casedisclosed during investigation that they had concealed explosives in their house,” said a police official. He said that the law enforcers carried out a raid on the house and recovered two kg explosives and other equipments used in making improvised explosive devises. Police registered a case against the arrested militants and started investigation.
Meanwhile, All Employees Coordination Council held a hunger strike camp at the district headquarters complex Tajazai to protest against the non-implementation of the recommendations of Pay and Pension Committee. Office bearers of different employees’ organizations attended the camp.
MPA Munawar Khan’ brother Haji Ameer Nawaz Khan, JUI-D district ameer Maulana Abdul Rahim, general secretary Maulana Bashir Ahmad Haqqani, information secretary Maulana Abdul Wakil Bettanni, former nazim Maulana Asghar Ali and people from other walks of life visited the camp and express solidarity with the protesting employees.
AECC president Saeed Akhtat told reporters on the occasion that government had deceived the employees by not implementing the recommendations of pay committee. He rejected 20 percent adhoc relief for government employees, saying that the high inflation and dearness has broken the back of government servants.
The government should implement the recommendations of pay committee in letter and spirit”, he maintained, making it clear that the employees could will launch a protest campaign if demands were not accepted by the government.
