PTI names conveners for five districts

PESHAWAR – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Peshawar region’s steering committee, Saturday approved names of conveners for five districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to details, to approve the names of conveners for five districts, an important meeting of the regional steering committee was held with regional convener Saleem Jan Khan in the chair. Besides others committee`s members Atif Khan, Shah Farman, Iftikhar Jhagra, Iqbal Khattak, Umer Farooq Hoti, Tahir Umer zai and Jehanzeb Bahadur Khan also attended the meeting.
The meeting gave unanimous approval of the names of conveners for the five districts of the region. Syed Ishtiaq Ali Shah`s name was approved for district Peshawar `s convener where as Dr. Mohammad Afzal for Mardan, Col (r) Inam Ullah Khan for Charsadda, Iftikhar Khan Durrani for Nowshehra and Sadiq Khan Topi`s name was approved for the convener of district Swabi.
The conveners will play a neutral role during their tenure and they will not contest for any party slot during the party elections.
The meeting took strong note of the propaganda circulated by political rivals regarding PTI`s membership campaign. The members of the committe categorically denied any relation of the party and it`s chairman with the people who were collecting NIC copies from the new members and promising to pay them once the party comes into power.
The meeting was told that the party had given financial aid to the survivors of the four party workers who were martyred at Swabi and Bannu during different incidents. The steering committee expressed satisfaction over the on going membership campaign, however stressed all the leaders and workers to set up more membership camps in the region.
