Isalmabad : PPP’s Dr Qayyum Soomro was elected senator unopposed on Saturday. Soomro replaced Dr Abdul Hafeez Sheikh who had resigned his Senate seat after quitting the federal cabinet. No one submitted nomination papers against Soomro, making him the only candidate for the vacant seat.
