Nato truck torched in Dasht; 2 hurt

QUETTA - Two people including a driver were wounded when armed men attacked a container carrying supplies for Nato forces deployed in Afghanistan, at Dasht area, some 15 Km away from Quetta on Friday.
According to Levies Force officials, gunmen sprayed bullets on a Nato container at Dasht area near a petrol pump with sophisticated weapons. As a result, driver of the container Abdul Rehman, a resident of Mianwali, and cleaner Muhammad Naheem, a resident of Sahiwal, sustained serious injuries.
“Later the assailants dismounted driver and cleaner from the truck, sprinkled petrol on it and set it on fire before escaping from the scene,” a Levies official said, adding that container was gutted which was heading towards Kandahar from Karachi via Chaman Border.
The injured were shifted to Civil Hospital Quetta for medical treatment. Levies Force personnel cordoned off the area following the attack and started a search in the area to arrest the culprits involved behind the incident.
No group had claimed responsibility for the attack till filing this report.
