Tauqeer Sadiq should be repatriated from Dubai by Feb 14: SC

The Supreme Court during hearing of the OGRA implementation case ordered that former OGRA Chairman Tauqeer Sadiq should be repatriated to Pakistan before his detention in Dubai expires on 14 February.

In its order, the Supreme Court directed FIA, Foreign Minister, Interior Ministry and other departments to support NAB in the deportation of Tauqeer Sadiq. The order further states that if the process to deport Sadiq is not complete by February 14, steps should be taken to extend the detention period.
Prosecutor NAB was directed to submit a petition for the arrest of Sadiq in the accountability court and after the arrest warrant is issued the deportation process should be completed.
During proceedings, the bench remarked that the Cabinet Division letter was tantamount to interfering with the NAB investigation. The hearing of the case was adjourned till February 18.
