Bomb blast kills boy in Khyber Agency

KHYBER AGENCY - A 10-year-old boy was killed and another sustained injuries when an explosive device planted by militants on a roadside went off in Ashraf Khel area of Khyber Agency’s tehsil Landi Kotal on Sunday.

Sources said that last day an explosive device planted by militants on a roadside at Ashraf Khel Link Road went off with a bang. As a result, Jabrial, 10, a resident of Khuga Khel was killed on the spot. Hafizullah, a passerby, also got minor injuries and shifted to Landi Kotal Hospital for treatment, sources said.
Soon after the incident, the administration and forces officials rushed to the scène, cordoned off the whole area and collected evidence for investigation, sources added. During inspecting of the area, one more bomb planted near the blast site was recovered through sniffer dogs and defused by the bomb disposal squad (BDS), sources maintained. A massive search operation was launched in the area and 20 suspected tribesmen were arrested and sent to forces cantonment for interrogation, sources said.
