NORTH WAZIRISTAN - At least two suspected militants were killed in a US drone strike at Dattakhel tehsil of North Waziristan Agency on Sunday.
Sources said that US drone fired at least two missiles on a suspected militant riding a horse and his other companion at Muhammad Khel village situated in tehsil Dattakhel some 30 kilometers north of Miranshah, the headquarters of North Waziristan Agency and killed them on the spot. However, some reports said that only one militant traveling on the horseback was killed in attack. The US drone fired two missiles at around 8:50 am. The last reported drone strike in tribal areas was on February 8 last, in which at least nine militants were killed.
Dozens of US drone strikes have been carried out in Fata so far in which hundreds of people have been killed. Pakistan has been denouncing US drone strikes in its tribal belt for a long time. Pakistan terms these strikes a breach of its sovereignty, but US has paid a little heed to it.
