ISLAMABAD - The Supreme Court (SC) on Wednesday constituted a nine-member larger bench under Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry to hear the memo case on October 22.
The court also issued notice to all the parties in the case, including Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif and Attorney General Irfan Qadir.
Earlier, a nine-judge bench, headed by Justice Mian Shakirullah Jan had been hearing the case on the controversy after the memo panel held that Haqqani was the architect of the memo sent to former US military chief Admiral Mike Mullen seeking US help in fending off a possible military coup.
On July 12, the Supreme Court gave the counsel three-day time to file Haqqani's request for exemption, which was filed on July 17.
