KHYBER AGENCY – At least nine fighters of pro-government Ansaar -ul-Islam (AI) and banned outfit Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were killed as a fierce fighting was in progress between the two armed organisations in Dre Stanai, the far-flung area of Tirah valley of tehsil Bara, official and local sources said on Monday.
An AI spokesperson told media persons on phone that four of their armed persons lost their lives and three others sustained bullets injuries in the fresh combat.
The local sources said five TTP fighters were killed and scores wounded in the fighting, however, it could not be confirmed by TTP for lack of communication sources.
It is worth mentioning here that an armed clash among the TTP, AI and LI (Laskar-e-Islam) has been in progress in Tirah valley for 20 days, claiming more than 150 precious lives so far.
