LAHORE – The Pakistan State Oil on Monday halted fuel supply to the Pakistan International Airlines, disrupting substantially the national flag carrier’s operations and flights.
A PIA spokesman said the airline was defaulting on over Rs1 billion worth PSO bills. Due to the fuel cut two flights were delayed, added Tajwar.  The spokesperson however said a meeting between the PIA managing director and PSO management was in progress in Islamabad to settle the issue.
“I am sure the issue will be resolved within one-and-a-half hours,” he said.
The flights, PK-657 operating on Lahore-Multan sector and PK-562 operating on Karachi-Multan sector, were delayed by three hours and one hour, respectively. Till the filing of this report, negotiations were underway between the PSO and the PIA.
