QUETTA – Recovering rockets and hand grenades after a gun fight with smugglers in Gulistan area of Qilla Abdullah, a bordering district with Afghanistan, the Frontier Corps (FC) killed a smuggler on Monday.
According to the FC spokesperson, FC tightened the security at Pak Afghan border after getting a snitch that arms and ammunition from Afghanistan would be smuggled.
The spokesman said: “FC personnel asked a vehicle to stop in Gulistan area but the people sitting inside opened fire. FC men returned fire, killing a man while injuring another.”
He said that 30 rocket launchers, 12 hand grenades and 2000 SMG rounds were found from the vehicle, adding that the arrested man was being interrogated.
Separately, police recovered a rocket from Kechi Baig area which was defused by the bomb disposal squad.
