Is it Rs1 million bounty that matters?

LARKANA/KHAIRPUR - Head money of Rs1 million on a notorious dacoit has created a feud between the Larkana and Khairpur police as both claimed his killing.

As per details, the killing of four dacoits including a proclaimed offender have become a mystery as both the Larkana and Khairpur police claimed to have killed the same in two separate shootouts in Katcha area of Indus River on Friday.  According to Khairpur SSP Irfan Mukhtar Bhutto, a police party on a tip off conducted operation in the forest of Indus River near Gulu Siyal Police Station area of Khairpur. The robbers hiding in the wild started firing at police and tried to escape. In retaliatory fire, all the four robbers including proclaimed offender Iqbal Nareejo were killed. While other killed dacoits are identified as namely Mehboob Narejo, Ameero Narejo and another is unidentified. Police also recovered heavy weapons from their custody.
Meanwhile Larkana police have also claimed that they have killed the dacoits in jurisdiction of PS Gullu Siyal. Addressing a news conference, Larkana SSP Javaid Jiskani said that a police team cordoned off the main hideout of the dacoits in KT Mumtaz area. The dacoits were asked to surrender but they opened fire on the police team. In retaliation, dacoits Iqbal Narejo, Mehboob Narejo, Ameero Narejo and an unidentified accomplice were gunned down.
The police also recovered heavy weapons from them. The SSP further said that all the dacoits were carrying heavy head-money and wanted in various criminal cases.
However, there are rumours that the criminals were killed in a clash between two groups of Narejo community, and the police are showing fake encounters for getting rewards. However Larkana police took away the bodies. The Sindh government had placed Rs1 million as head money on Iqbal Nareejo. The dacoits were wanted by police stations of different districts of Sindh in various heinous crimes including murder, robberies, kidnapping for ransom and looting vehicles at National Highway.
