KARACHI - President Asif Ali Zardari has felicitated US President Barack Obama on assumption of the office of the President for the second term.

While reiterating Pakistan's commitment to have a long-lasting, broad-based, cooperative and mutually beneficial relationship with the United States, the President said that he looks forward to working with him for bringing the two countries further closer and to building a strong partnership for advancing shared goals and objectives for peace, security and prosperity of peoples of the two countries.
The President also extended invitation to US President to visit Pakistan at a time of his convenience. Following is the text of President's letter to his US counterpart:
"Dear Mr President,
On behalf of the Government and people of Pakistan, it gives me immense pleasure to congratulate you on assuming the office of the President of the United States of America. Your re-election testifies the support and confidence that the people of the United States have reposed in your dynamic leadership. As you start your second term, I wish to avail this opportunity to assure you of our continued commitment to a long-lasting, broad-based, cooperative and mutually beneficial relationship with the United States.
I look forward to working with you in the coming years to bring our two countries closer and in building a strong partnership to advance our shared goals and objectives for peace, security and prosperity of our peoples. I also avail this opportunity to extend to you an invitation to visit Pakistan at a time of your convenience.
