Pakistan, US to sign MoU for formalization of NATO supply route: FO

Pakistan and the United States will soon sign an Memorandum of Understanding for the formalization of NATO supply route. Foreign Office Spokesman Moazzam Ahmed Khan has said that Pakistan and the United States will soon sign an Memorandum of Understanding for the formalization of NATO supply route. He told the media persons at his weekly news briefing in Islamabad on Thursday that both the sides have almost completed their technical level discussions and are now engaged in the internal processes in this regard. The spokesman clarified that Pakistan had not closed down the NATO supply route for financial reasons. It was a principle decision aimed at protecting the country's sovereignty and integrity. He said the reopening of the supply route was also not aimed at getting more money from the NATO containers. When asked about the drone attacks‚ the spokesman said Pakistan has a clear position on these strikes. He said it is an important issue and both the countries want to address it in a mutually acceptable manner.
