KARACHI - Despite the financial constraints and deficit, the PPP-led government has increased the budget of the CM’s House/Secretariat, Governor’s House, provincial ministers, advisers to the CM and his special assistants in the last budget of its five-year tenure.
According to the budget documents, a total Rs306.016m has been set aside for the expenditures of the chief minister Secretariat/ Sindh Assembly for the next fiscal year, which is higher than budgetary allocation of Rs228.437m of the outgoing year.
However, in the revised budget estimates of the outgoing fiscal year 2011-12, the budget of CM’s House was increased to Rs320.227 million against the allocation of Rs228.437 million.
Meanwhile, a huge amount of Rs417.864 million has been allocated for the Sindh Assembly, which includes expenditures of the assembly secretariat, speaker, as well as TA/DAs of MPAs.
According to the budget documents, a huge amount of Rs14.572 million has been allocated for the state conveyance and motors of Sindh the governor for the next fiscal year, against the outgoing year’s Rs13.827 million. Besides, Rs84.426 million have been allocated for the expenditures of the governor’s staff.
Meanwhile, Rs29.663 million have been allocated for the expenditure (charged) of the military secretary of the governor for the next year, registering an increase as compared to Rs25.584 million of the outgoing year’s allocation. Besides, a significant amount of Rs105.190 million has been set aside for the expenditure (voted) of the chief pilot of the governor/chief minister in the next fiscal year.
However, a new expenditure of Rs43.285 million has been set aside for the Chief Minister’s helicopter flight in next fiscal year.
According to the budget documents, a huge amount of Rs373.886 million has been set aside for the expenditures (voted) of the cabinet ministers of the Sindh province for next fiscal year, which is higher than budgetary allocation of Rs267.253 million of outgoing fiscal year 2011-12, but the ministers’ expenditures (voted) increased to Rs354.861 million in the current fiscal year due to unknown reasons in the budget documents.
The budget documents showed that the budget allocation for advisors and special assistants to the chief minister has been increased to Rs176.350 million for next fiscal year.
