Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf has said that Pakistan People’s Party has no reservations against the Election Commission of Pakistan.

Talking to a private television channel, the Prime Minister noted that PPP believes in timely elections. He further said that the name of Caretaker Prime Minister has not been finalised by now, and hoped that the caretaker setup will be acceptable to all.
The premier stated that he would ask Chaudhry Nisar to give nominees for the caretaker setup. “Once the Opposition gives names for the caretaker government, PPP’s allies would be taken on board,” he added.
Prime Minister Ashraf observed that PPP would oppose all moves against the democratic system.
Meanwhile speaking at a reception hosted by Pakistan's High Commissioner Wajid Shamsul Hassan for British parliamentarians at House of Commons Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf said Pakistan is keen to have good relations with neighboring countries including India.
The Prime Minister said relations between Pakistan and India are moving in the right direction‚ with exchange of Parliamentary and business delegations.
He said Pakistan has taken a leap forward to improve ties with India including softening of borders and holding of composite dialogue to settle all outstanding issues.
The Prime Minister called for resolution of the core issue of Kashmir in accordance with the wishes of the Kashmiri people and UN resolutions.
Referring to the Afghan issue‚ the Prime Minister said if Afghanistan is stable‚ there will be stability in Pakistan.
He said Pakistan is part of the solution and not part of the problem with regard to Afghan issue. The Prime Minister said Pakistan always made sincere efforts for stability and peace in Afghanistan.
He appreciated the role and contribution of Pakistani diaspora in the United Kingdom in enhancing relations between the two countries.
Prime Minister assured that free‚ fair and impartial elections will be held in Pakistan.
He said it is good omen for the country as well as democracy that all the stakeholders and political forces are satisfied with the Election Commission of Pakistan.
