MULTAN - A former town nazim, TMO and three other officials were booked by the Anti-Corruption Establishment on charges of embezzlement here on Thursday.

The accused included the then nazim of Shah Rukan-e-Alam Town Rai Arif Mansab, TMO Munawar Ahmad Majoka and three others. Anti Corruption sources said that the nazim and other officials committed massive irregularities in awarding contracts for bakkar mandi, cart fee, publicity fee and property tax in 2005 and embezzled amount worth Rs39.2 million. The audit reports pointed out the embezzlement on which director anti corruption Multan issued order for registration of case. A special team headed by a deputy director is constituted to investigate the case.
HCBAM GETS COMPUTERS, SCANNERS: The Punjab government has given four computers and scanners to High Court Bar Association Multan. The equipments were handed over to the representatives of bar by the EDO Finance Adnan Arshad and Munawar Ehsan Qureshi during a ceremony here on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion, Munawar Ehsan Qureshi said that the Punjab Government was determined to facilitate the bar associations with a view to expediting the process of dispensation of justice to the people.
