SWAT – A local resident was gunned down by a police constable within the jurisdiction of Rahimabad Police Station on Thursday.

According to details, policeman Niamatullah opened indiscriminate fire on Sui gas officer Rahim, son of Sher Zada, resident of Ground Mohalla, Balogram, Swat, leaving him dead on the spot. Rahim was a local officer of the Sui Gas Department deputed at Swat.
Police personnel Niamatullah and Rahim were neighbors and on Thursday morning both the persons got some minor dispute, on which Niamatullah got furious and sprayed bullets with his government Arm AK- 47 on Rahim.
Resultantly Rahim received four bullets into his body. The locals rushed him to the Saidu Teaching Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
After the incident, the locals condemned the cruel act of the policeman and appealed to DIG Malakand Akhtar Hayat Khan to take stern action against the accused.
The accused Niamatullah tried to escape from the scene, but SHO Rahimabad Police Station Hanif Khan nabbed him and registered FIR against him.
