WARBURTON - Sheikhupura Range RPO Zulfiqar Cheema held an open court here the other day wherein he listened to the public complaints and issued on the spot directions for their solution.
Any police officer involved in corruption and abuse of power will be punished and will be made example so that nobody could dare indulge in such malpractices in future, he said.
He said that Warburton would be converted into a model peaceful city of the Punjab.
The RPO said that the implication of innocent people in cases was great injustice and people should avoid this malpractice. Cheema emphasised that the police should not abuse its powers and utilize all energies and resources for ensuring early and smooth provision of justice to the oppressed and needy people. He claimed that active mutual cooperation between the police and public was vital for curbing the menace of the crime. He said that the elimination of corruption and touts was the top priority and asked the police officials to adopt leniency, morality and good attitude towards oppressed people.
He praised and gave Rs20,000 as prize from his pocket to Warburton SHO Muhammad Azam Basra for purging the area of narcotics, gambling and adultery. Later, RPO Zulfiqar Cheema inaugurated the newly constructed building of Warburton Police Station.

As per detail, Shehnaz, wife of Abdul Sattar, a resident of Hwaldar was travelling to Arifwala along with children, when two women and a man riding a car approached her at bus stand.
The car riders offered a lift to Shehnaz Bibi which she accepted. The woman sitting on the back seat covered Shehnaz’s face and snatched Rs 14,300 and 5 tolas of jewellery from her and throw her on the road. The City Police have registered a case on the application of Abdul Sattar.
