SAHIWAL - District Bar Association General Secretary Muhammad Ishfaq Baloch has said that the PPP-led federal government has violated all ethics and norms by passing the contempt of court amended bill. He said that any amendment in Constitution required two-third majority but this bill had been passed with a simple majority, while the opposition protest went unnoticed.

Talking to the newsmen here on Thursday, the DBA general secretary claimed that such amendments had no legal value in the eye of law and condemned the government attitude in this regard .He pointed out that the government had resorted to ignoble tactics to save the skin of corrupt politicians, adding that the unscrupulous elements who extended support to the corrupt government wanted to only to prolong their stay in the corridors of power at any cost.
He pledged that the lawyers would foil all evil designs of the rulers against the independence of the judiciary.
