ZEWALA Sharaqpur SHO Azam Basra has been suspended owing to dereliction as he fails in arresting any of the culprits who killed nine family members over rivalry. Nine family members were killed by their rivals in Village Maah Davee four days ago. The police high-ups issued directives to nab the culprits but the SHO could not to arrest any of the killers after passing four days.
Banditries: Dacoits looted cash, jewellery and other valuables worth Rs 2 million in Bagum Kot and Kot Abdul Malik on Sunday. Four masked bandits broke into businessman Atiques house and decamped with looted with cash, ornaments and other valuables worth in 1.8 million after taking hostage the family. In another incident, two armed robbers waylaid Pervaiz Ali, a shopkeeper, on Lahore Road near Kot Abdul Malik and deprived him of Rs 0.2 million. The police concerned police are investigating.
7 factories closed down: Assistant Commissioner Nadia Saqib-led tehsil administration team on Sunday closed down seven chemicals factories and dozens of firecrackers-making units which were being run in the residential areas.

The AC and other staffers conducted surprise raids and shut down the factories and units located in the densely populated localities of the tehsil.
The AC told the media that the owners had been directed to shift their factories and units outside the populated areas as the administration would not allowed them to run such business in the populated areas.
On the other hand, the Chemical Factories Union President Munir Ahmad refused to abide by the Assistant Commissioners directives, threaten to move court.
It will be challenged in the Lahore High Court today (Monday)
