WAZIRABAD - DCO Ch Muhammad Ameen has said that Wazirabad Institute of Cardiology (WIC) has been attached with Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) and will start functioning soon. He was addressing disease awareness seminar on TB here the other day.
The DCO called TB a fatal disease and urged participants to spread awareness among the masses about preventive measures against the disease. He urged scholars and local people to play their part in helping the masses learn more about the disease so that the goal to declare Gujranwala a TB-free district could be accomplished.
He said that cleanliness might end or minimize chances of epidemic diseases up to 70 percent. Protection from diseases and taking precautionary measures is the duty of every individual, he added.
He said that the body resistance against epidemic diseases could be increased through balanced diet and simple food.
He said that citizens should keep their environment clean and put their garbage in a shopper bag out side of door from where a sanitary worker could remove it easily.
He disclosed that a cleanliness campaign in Gujranwala District would be started from Wazirabad and District administration would provide all available facilities for the purpose including sanitary Machinery.
“WIC has been attached with PIC Lahore and its Medical Superintendent will see the matters of WIC including its functioning as early as possible which capacity is 50 beds initially,” he said.
