ISLA MABAD (Online) - The incumbent management of the National Assembly Employees Cooperative Housing Society (NAECHS) has been suspended and replaced by a committee comprising Sheikh Waqas Akram, MNA/Convener and MNAs Anjum Aqeel Khan, Mrs Shagufta Sadiq, Noor Alam Khan and Ahmad Hussain, Deputy Secretary National Assembly Secretariat as Members to probe into the alleged administrative and financial mismanagement in the affairs of the society. A notification to this effect was issued by the Administration of Islamabad Capital Territory in pursuance of the directions of the Standing Committee on house and Library which is chaired by Acting Speaker National Assembly Faisal Karim Kundi. A sub-Committee of the Standing Committee on House and Library constituted under the convenership of MNA Anjum Aqeel Khan after through deliberation had recommended for immediate suspension of the incumbent management of the Society since the Society had been subjected to administrative and financial mismanagement. The committee under Sheikh Waqas Akram, MNA has been mandated to sort out the previous affairs of the NAECHS since its establishment and to probe into all accounts, expenditures in purchase of land and development by all previous office bearers and Administrators. The committee has been asked to fix responsibility of mismanagement and malpractices within one month. The committee has also been asked to decide the status of the membership of National Assembly Employees Cooperative Housing society and also make arrangements for the election of the new office bearers of the Society. in order to run the affairs of the society and ensure the interests of the employees of National Assembly. Faisal Karim Kundi, Acting Speaker has said that the successive managements/administrators of the Housing Society had not seriously taken up the development of the society and subjected it to mismanagement which necessitated institution of an oversee committee. He said that no one will be allowed to misappropriate the hard earned savings of the employees of the National Assembly Secretariat.
