MIRPURKHAS - The Pakistan Medical Association has strongly condemned the incident in which some anti-social elements manhandled renowned Dr Javaid Ahmed Khan and ransacked his private clinic here the other day.

The PMA district Mirpurkhas chapter held a meeting which was presided over by general secretary Dr Shamsul Aarfeen here on Friday.
As per details, Dr Javaid had tried his best to provide first aid to an ailing baby in his clinic. Later, the baby was shifted to the civil hospital where she died. Heirs of the baby and some other anti-social elements attacked the doctor’s private clinic, manhandled him and his staff and also ransacked the furniture and glasses.
The meeting lamented that such kinds of attacks against doctors and their staff have become a matter of routine in the society. The meeting also demanded the authorities concerned to take measures to curb such threats. It was further said that doctors are responsible only to provide first aid and treatment, but could not give lives to the ailing patients. The meeting demanded the higher authorities to take immediate notice into the matter, provide peaceful atmospheres for doctors and their staff, so that they could provide proper medical treatment to patients without any fear and pressure.
