ISLAMABAD - Amid heightened tension, senior Pakistani and Indian military officials will hold a flag meeting on Monday (today) at LoC to discuss recent violations of the international border that killed two Pakistani soldiers.

"A Brigadier level flag meeting is likely to be held at LoC between Pakistan and Indian military authorities," a senior military official said without giving details.
Islamabad has lodged two strong protests with New Delhi over violations of the LoC by the Indian troops that killed two Pakistani soldiers in separate incidents in five days last week, and proposed a third party verification of the violations. But the belligerent Indian authorities rejected the proposal.
Tension between the two nuclear rivals has evoked deep reaction in the world and major powers including US, China and EU called for restraint and de-escalation of tension leaving the Indian Army with no option but talks. “Pakistan is committed to peace and stability in the region, and we hope that India taking the responsibility of the recent incidents will implement the mechanism to ensure ceasefire in letter and spirit", a senior official in Foreign Office said.
